Coaching

Because there are fewer kids playing chess in Middle School and there are so many different activities they are involved with, Elementary School style “after school programs” tend not to be effective. We certainly encourage these programs where available but the realities are that there are usually not enough kids in a single school to support such a program.

CoachingRecognizing that fact, we are working with a number of coaches and organizations across the state to make coaching available on a regular basis If you are interested in participating in a group in your area, please send an email to Rick Jorgensen.     I coach at Mason Middle School in the Tacoma School District. I would love to opportunity to help out. I will learn as they do.
